Our Services
For ages 5-14
Morning Care
6.30am-8.30am
A cozy space to start the day and potter creatively or tear around outdoors and burn off energy before being escorted safely onto the school bus.
After School Care
3pm-6pm
Step off the bus to play time! After a fresh home-made snack, the day is yours! Play outdoors at the domain, work on crafts together, knock off homework or just chill with a book.

We create a fresh programme every holiday with a good mix of activities, including trip days. Upcoming programmes are posted here prior to every holiday, registration essential.

We do things a little differently at EskView AfterSchool, and we believe that makes us just a wee bit special.
Because we’re an independent childcare centre, we have the flexibility to listen to what our local Bay View / Eskdale / Westshore families want and need, and tailor our activities to suit.
We believe in fresh food, flexibility and freedom - both for busy parents and for busy kids who need the space to find their own boundaries in a safe, nurturing environment.
For our senior kids up to 14, we focus on leadership and self-directed free time or homework, while our juniors are outdoors in the park if the sun’s shining, or enjoying natural craft projects indoors.
We know our kids well and strive to meet their own unique requirements and be the ‘home away from home’ before and after school, and during school holidays, so as parents you know your village is here to back you up and help your family to thrive.

Let’s make life easy! We’re based at the EskView Community Playgroup at Petane Domain. Drop your kids here on your way to work, we’ll get them on the bus to school and be there to get them off at the end of the day.

2025 TIMES & PRICES
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE
6:30am-8:30am / 3:00pm-6:00pm
$7 per hour and $4 per half hour.
Casual rate: bookings within 24hrs: $8/hr $5/half hour.
For sickness and absences, 1hr is charged not the full booking.
We do not partner with WINZ but are happy to discuss options directly with parents including 3rd sibling discount.
NAPIER SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAMMES
April:
Week 1 - 14th to 17th
Week 2 - 22nd to 24th
Centre days: $45 / Trip days: $55
Early bird: book one month out, pay $40/50 per day
Casual rate: bookings within 24hrs: $50/60 per day.
3rd child in family: Half price
School holiday programme activities are available for all Napier children and are posted here 3-4 weeks prior to holidays. Early booking is recommended.

Our Napier school holiday programmes are carefully curated each term to ensure variety, creativity and a little bit of magic. They are designed to foster independence and self-esteem, especially with senior children.
Seniors 9 yrs +, Intermediate 8yrs, Juniors: 5-7yrs.
A HEART-CENTRED APPROACH
After many years running out-of-school programmes in both Napier and Wanganui, Leslie saw an opportunity to provide the Bay View / Eskdale community with a centre that was owner-operated and able to provide the type of care a commercial centre could not.
From home-made sandwiches to sustainable crafting and baking cakes together to celebrate birthdays, Leslie strives to make EskView After School the type of place kids love to come to and an extension of the support network she believes all parents deserve to have.

If there's space we are happy to take bookings on the day or on a casual basis, just text to check availability. Bookings within 24 hours are $8/hr and $5/half hour. For holiday programmes, $55 for center days and $60 for trip days.

Please text as soon as possible to advise if your child won't be attending due to sickness or another reason to avoid confusion, especially for after school bus drop-offs. Absences are charged for the first hour of the booking only.

All buses including the Eskdale School bus are provided free of charge by the Ministry of Education. If you'd like your child to come to us after school, please advise the relevant teacher to ensure they get on the correct bus.

Yes, we are very flexible. If you decide to turn up early that's no problem, although you will be charged for the time booked.

We encourage the older children in our after school care to self-direct their time with us, and support them with activities, homework and leadership roles depending on their interests. Our Napier school holiday programmes have dedicated age-group activities including seperate trips.

We are a diverse community and we work with our families to support all individual needs including diet and any extra support needed by our tamariki.

We currently have space for before and after school care, including casual bookings for those days your routine gets thrown out. Our mission is to support our local parents so whatever your needs, we’re here to chat about them and we try to be as flexible as possible.

We often need extra help during busy times, especially during school holiday programmes. If you or someone you know has a passion for working with children and would like some casual hours, please get in touch.
We also love having people traveling around NZ to join our team, so our tamariki can learn about different cultures.
